Hakuba

The Hakuba Valley is a huge expanse of resorts offering an incredible variety of terrain for skiers and snowboarders alike. Situated in the heart of the Japanese Alps, the alpine scenery is truly spectacular with rugged peaks towering above the town below. From one end of the valley to the other, there are 10 resorts accessing over 200 runs making Hakuba the skiing mecca of Japan. Happo-One is the largest resort with a consistently impressive snow base and family friendly facilities. Our favourite, and Hakuba’s best kept secret is Cortina. It may be the smallest of the 10 resorts but don’t let that fool you, you’ll find amazing tree skiing and steep powder-filled bowls. Off-piste skiing is limited in Hakuba, if you wish to explore the back-country we recommend booking a guide on arrival in Hakuba. Along with the wide variety of skiiable terrain, there's also a great variety of non-ski activities in Hakuba. Make sure you leave a day to visit the snow monkeys of Jigokudani Park, you’ll find them soaking in the Onsens trying to keep warm in the colder months. We offer a day long Snow Monkey & Temple Tour that will ensure you get your cute animal + cultural fix all in one.
