IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ! ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR USA!

All nationals and citizens of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries will be required by law to obtain a travel authorisation prior to initiating travel to the United States under the VWP. Travelers wishing to visit the USA under the Visa Waiver Programme – which includes passport holders from Australia and New Zealand – will be required to apply for ESTA at least 72 hours prior to their scheduled departure. You should apply for an ESTA when you plan your trip, do not wait until the last minute to apply.

You must have an e-passport to use the VWP. An e-Passport is an enhanced secure passport with an embedded electronic chip. You can readily identify an e-Passport, because it has a unique international symbol on the cover.

ESTA FEE: There is a USD40.00 fee to obtain travel authorization

To apply online for a US Travel Authorisation, please visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov

For more information please visit the U.S Customs and Border Protection website;

http://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/visa-waiver-program

Entry requirements are strict. US authorities have broad powers to decide if you're eligible to enter and may determine that you are inadmissible for any reason under US law. An approved ESTA or valid visa doesn’t guarantee entry to the United States. US CBP officials at the port of entry will determine your eligibility. If CBP denies your entry, you may be held at the port of entry or (in locations, including Hawaii) a nearby detention facility while US authorities arrange your return to Australia (or the last country you visited).

PLEASE NOTE: Entry requirements are subject to change at any time. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the current requirements before traveling. Please verify the latest information by consulting the nearest embassy, consulate, immigration office, or the official website of the immigration authority of your destination.
