About Snowbird

Snowbird is an unincorporated community nestled in Little Cottonwood Canyon amid Utah's Wasatch Range, close to Salt Lake County. It shares this picturesque canyon with Alta Ski Area to the east. Since winter 2002, these two resorts have collaborated to offer visitors a joint day pass and season ticket, granting access to a combined skiable area spanning 4,700 acres and serviced by 26 ski lifts and tows. This partnership was enhanced with the introduction of the Baldy Express lift in 2002, facilitating seamless access between Snowbird's Mineral Basin and Alta's Sugarloaf mountains, both renowned for their exceptional skiing opportunities.

However, it's worth noting that this joint offering caters exclusively to skiers due to Alta's policy prohibiting snowboarding. Despite this limitation, various access points between the resorts ensure that visitors can enjoy a unified skiing experience across both mountains, fostering a cohesive skiing community in this breathtaking mountainous region.
