About Telluride
Tucked away in a box canyon, Telluride is an eclectic mix of historic mining town and modern ski resort. Telluride (AKA “To hell we ride”) has a colourful history, home to the very first bank Butch Cassidy robbed. Fast forward to the present day and you’ll find a buzzing town and a tastefully designed Mountain Village connected by a free gondola.
This resort offers an unmatched mountain experience for all levels of skiers/snowboarders thanks to some of the most spectacular terrain and scenery in North America. Advanced skiers will be especially impressed by the nerve-wracking chutes and steep gladed runs on offer.
When you arrive at Telluride, everything is accessible by foot, free shuttle or gondola – so say goodbye to your rental car and hello to your new mountain playground.
Known for:
- Village charm
- Advanced terrain
- Nightlife
Accommodation
Telluride is separated into 2 areas, the Mountain Village and town. There is a free gondola that runs from Mountain Village down to town that takes 13 minutes and operates until midnight. We generally recommend staying in the Mountain Village and using the gondola at night to access the bars, restaurants and shops in town. The accommodation in Mountain Village is of a high standard, ranging from 5-star luxury hotels to ski-/ski-out self-catered apartments.

How to get there
Fly
Telluride is best accessed by Montrose Airport (MTJ). When flying from Australia at least one stopover is required, the most popular stopover destinations are Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas (13-15 hour flight from Australia) and then on to Montrose Airport, a 2 hour flight. All three make a great city escape pre or post your ski holiday.

NON-SKI ACTIVITIES
Ice Climbing
Telluride contains several exceptional (and easily accessible) ice climbs - Bridal Veil Falls, and Ingram Falls are our favourites. Half day introductory classes available.
Fat Tyre Biking
Just because there's snow and ice on the ground doesn't mean that you have to stop biking. Try a Fat tyre tour or rent a Fat tyre bike and explore for yourself.
“Cowboys meet luxury in Telluride. The legs will be burning by day as there is so much terrain to cover on mountain, and by night the feet will be sore from dancing!”
