At 1,444 m above sea level, Andermatt attracts guests from all over the world thanks to its charming and traditional town centre. The new part of the village features excellent hotels and various gourmet restaurants that create a unique ambience in the original village.

The Andermatt region is one of the most snow-sure parts of Switzerland. With peaks of over 3,000m, the diverse skiing areas offers a healthy mix with varying degrees of altitude and levels of difficulty. Freeriders and lovers of steep-slope descents fall for the Gemsstock, while recreational skiers and families find themselves in their element at the Nätschen and Sedrun resorts.

Getting There

Andermatt lies in the heart of Switzerland, and it can be reached quickly and easily by train, coach or car.

The Swiss railway is the best way to get around Switzerland. To get from Zurich to Andermatt, the fastest train journey is 2 hours and 5 minutes, with 2 stop changes. There are about 16 trains per day that run from Zurich to Andermatt, including the iconic Glacier Express.
