Accommodation
Fernie is a small but modern village; most of the accommodation is ski-in/ski-out of varying standards. You’ll find shops, bars and restaurants in the mountain village with the larger town of Fernie just a 10 minute drive away.
How to get there
Fly
The closest airport is Cranbrook. When flying from Australia one stopover is required, the fastest route is to Vancouver (YVR) and then onto Cranbrook (YXC). Flight time is approximately 14 hours to Vancouver and 1h 25 mins from Vancouver to Cranbrook. Vancouver makes a great stopover, we love spending a couple of days exploring the city before heading to the slopes. Another option is flying into Calgary (YYC), although the transfer time is longer at 3 hours.
