ALTA SKI AREA
About Alta Ski Area
Since Alta was established in 1938, the small base town has developed organically over time. Bringing together like-minded skiers who want a chance to take on some of Salt Lake City's most spectacular terrain.
Alta Ski Area is one of few resorts that prohibits snowboarding, proud of their skiing heritage the tradition remains strong today. Despite the hard-core skier culture, Alta is welcoming of newcomers and provides a real sense of community the minute you arrive.
The mountain itself has 2,200 acres of skiable terrain and some of the best off-piste skiing in Utah. The terrain is geared towards intermediate and advanced skiers, locals say "If you can ski here, you can ski anywhere", we're inclined to agree.
No trip to Utah is complete without visiting Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks
Accommodation
The accommodation at Alta is made up of five traditional and charming ski lodges. If you're looking for a more central location for a multiple resort trip we recommend staying in Salt Lake City.
