Booking Conditions

It is important that you read all information carefully and ensure that you understand and accept the conditions outlined before proceeding with your booking.

Validity
Products and prices on this website are subject to change without notice. All SKIMAX prices are valid, unless superseded or otherwise indicated, from June 2007 to October 2007 (Australia, New Zealand, South America), or 1 November 2007 to 30 April 2008 (USA, Canada, Europe, Japan). 

Delivery of Travel Documents
For most destinations, including New Zealand, travel documents are given directly to you in Australia. However, some countries do exchange documents on arrival or check-in.

Special Booking Conditions for Condominiums and Apartments
Conditions for apartments differ from those of hotel bookings – please check with SKIMAX upon reservation.

Bookings - Most European hotels require a Saturday or Sunday arrival with a miniumum 7 nights stay.

Cleaning - Some apartments are not cleaned daily and final cleaning charges may apply.

Security Deposit - In some apartments/condominiums a deposit may be payable in local currency to the keyholder on arrival. This amount may be refunded, less extra charges as indicated.

Additional Charges - Additional charges for linen, power or heating maybe payable in some apartment/condominiums.

Key Collection - Full details of key collection will be confirmed on vouchers once documentation has been issued.

Specific Booking Conditions for Car Rental
Car rental featured within this website is utilising EuropCar (Australia); Maui Motorhomes, Britz Car Rental, Europcar and Avis Car Rental (New Zealand) and Alamo (USA, Canada), Avis Rent a Car and Europcar (USA, Canada, Europe). Prices shown are per car, per day or per week, unless otherwise stated. Whilst a make and model is stated with the description, we cannot guarantee the specific make or model and any vehicle within the category booked will be supplied.

In the event that the vehicle category booked is unavailable at the time of collection, you will receive an upgrade to the next higher category at no additional cost.

Please choose your vehicle carefully, ensuring the category booked will meet your specific requirements – allowing for passengers and baggage. If you decide to change your car group at the time of collection, then the additional charge will be levied by the car rental company, in local currency and at local rental rates, which are often considerably more expensive that the rates available to you from Ski Max in Australia.

Additional information and specific conditions including cancellation policy, will be made available if requested by SKIMAX, together with final documentation (i.e. vouchers). A credit card with sufficient funds to cover car insurance excess must be provide to the car rental company.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - is not an insurance, but it waivers/reduces the hirer’s responsibility for damage to the vehicle.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) - is included where stated, or offered as an additional insurance – check your own insurance policy before taking additional insurance, as you may already be covered.

Collection of your vehicle - A credit card imprint or cash deposit is required upon collection of your vehicle. You must produce a full drivers licence (which must have been held by the driver for a minimum of 1 year).

You are liable for any charges incurred in the late delivery of your vehicle (24 hour clock operates). No refunds are payable should you deliver your vehicle before the specified time. Your vehicle is required to have a full petrol tank at the time of drop off, otherwise Avis will levy any fuel charges to your credit card, or deduct from your deposit.

Conditions apply to the minimum age requirements, one way drop off fees, additional driver fees, child restraints, the hire of snow chains and ski or roof racks and vary between countries.

No refunds are allowed for any unused car hire days.

Europcar:  Please note Europcar deduct the excess from your credit card and do not accept any responsibility for currency fluctuations between the charge and refunded amount.

Deposit
At least 50% of the total package cost (Australia/USA); $100 per person (New Zealand); $500 per person (all other destinations) is payable within 7 days, on confirmation of booking. This payment must be made through your local Travel Agent or SKIMAX to secure the required arrangements. For northern hemisphere destinations, a further deposit may be required for bookings falling over the Christmas period or otherwise stated.

Balance
All rates shown are per person, in $A, unless otherwise specified. The balance (or final payment) is due in full 45 days (Australia, New Zealand, South America) or 65 days (USA, Canada, Europe, Japan) prior to departure. Bookings made within this period must be fully paid upon confirmation.

Late Bookings
A late booking fee of $50 will be charged on all bookings made inside 2 weeks (Australia, New Zealand, South America). For USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, SKIMAX reserves the right to charge late booking fees for any booking made inside 30 days of departure.

In addition, a credit card number must be provided to SKIMAX to guarantee against changes and cancellation fees. This needs to take place before any late booking can be made. Courier fees will be at the expense of the client. A credit card guarantee will be required if booking is made within 30 days (Australia, New Zealand, South America) or 65 days (USA, Canada, Europe, Japan).

Quotes & Availability
All reservations are subject to availability. Verbal quotes are regarded as an estimate and prices are only confirmed with a written quote.

Cancellation Fees
Australia - For cancellations made six weeks or more prior to departure, a full refund of monies received will be given less $100 per person + any charges from suppliers. If cancellation is made within six weeks, there is no refund of monies paid.

New Zealand, South America - A minimum cancellation fee of $100 per person will be made plus any charges levied by ground operators, hotels, airlines or lift companies.

USA, Canada, Europe, Japan - A cancellation made outside of 65 days will incur a fee of $100 per person will be made to SKIMAX plus any charges levied by ground operators, hotels, airlines or lift companies. A cancellation made within 65 days before departure may or will incur a 100% cancellation fee of the total booking amount.

Any refunds due cannot be processed until the relevant funds have been returned by suppliers to SKIMAX. Insurance covering cancellation is strongly advised as some cancellation penalties are strict.

Refunds will not be given for unused accommodation, car rental, transfers and ski passes.

Amendments
A minimum amendment fee of $50 per change to confirmed arrangements. Within 45 days (New Zealand, South America) or 65 days (USA, Canada, Europe, Japan) of departure the cancellation conditions will apply in full.

Vouchers
After departure SKIMAX will not refund any unused vouchers this includes any unused lift tickets, car hire, transfers or accommodation. Prior to departure cancellation conditions will apply in full.

Not Included in Costs of Holidays or Services
Cost of passports, and visas where required, items not specified as being included, airport taxes where applicable, laundry, road tolls, telephone calls, food not included on regular menus ski or equipment hire, lift passes (unless stated), ski locker rentals (if charged) and any other item of a personal nature. Transportation to and from Australia.

Prices
All prices quoted for airfares (where applicable), transportation and land arrangements in this website are based on current rates, (including foreign exchange rates where applicable) and accordingly are subject to change without notice.

All reservations are subject to availability. Verbal quotes are regarded as an estimate and prices are only confirmed with a written quote.

Acceptance of Bookings
Bookings are accepted subject to the services or accommodation applied for being available. SKIMAX and/or its agents reserve the right, without notice, to modify, cancel or withdraw any or all of the arrangements and in this event the full amounts paid will be returned to the customer, and upon rendering the same, all liability of SKIMAX and/or its agents in respect thereof shall cease. SKIMAX and/or its agents reserve the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any party at any time. Bookings with Carriers are also subject to the Carriers’ terms and conditions as printed or referred to in their tickets and/or timetables and/or regulations.

Passports and Visas
It is your responsibility to arrange all necessary passports and visas. European countries vary in their requirements. Your Travel Agent or SKIMAX will be happy to advise you on this important point. Please make sure that these are in order before travelling.

Luggage
Luggage, including personal articles, is at all times and in all circumstances at owners’ risk except to the extent of any insurance purchased by the customer.

Insurance
It is advisable for everyone undertaking these tours and services to insure themselves against medical expenses, personal accident, loss of deposit and cancellation fees, and also their baggage against damage, loss, theft, etc. Your Travel Agent and SKIMAX will gladly advise you on an inexpensive insurance scheme.

Snow Conditions
Average snow fall statistics and snow conditions indicated within this website are provided by each resort and correct at the time of publication. It should be understood that SKIMAX cannot under any circumstances be held responsible for snow conditions. No holiday can be cancelled, altered or amended on the basis of weather conditions.

Website Accuracy
Whilst every effort is made on the accuracy of this website, SKIMAX cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions occurring in the production or changes to hotel facilities or amenities as specified, during the validity of the programme. Care will be taken however, to ensure that your travel agent is updated on any major changes that could affect the enjoyment of your holiday. Photographs are supplied by the hotels, decoration, fixtures and fittings may vary from those shown within this website.

Bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer Points
New Zealand and South America - 1000 (New Zealand) or 2000 (South America) Qantas Frequent Flyer Points will be awarded as advertised provided on the following: 1. Per person a minimum of return Qantas airfares to New Zealand or South America, 7 days car hire (NZ only), 7 nights accommodation and a 3 day lift pass.

USA, Canada, Europe, Japan - 2000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points will only be awarded per adult travelling on a SKIMAX Package consisting of a Qantas Airfare, 7 nights accommodation and a 6 day lift pass (except Europe).

Each passenger wanting to receive the Bonus Points Offer must provide their valid Qantas Frequent Flyer number at the time of Booking and failure in doing so will void the offer. Please allow up to 3 months from the return date of your holiday for points to appear on your statement.

Meals
Where meals are included, ie breakfast or on a half board basis, menus are available from the hotel’s set menu and not from the A la Carte menu. No refunds for unused menu services.

Children
All prices referring to discounts for children (2-12 years or as specified) are based on one child sharing with 2 adults using existing bedding. If an additional bed is required, this is likely to be a rollaway bed and will incur an additional charge, payable direct to the hotel, upon check in.

Where children under 2 years are accommodated free of charge, usually a cot will not be provided. Some hotels may be able to supply a cot but this may be subject to an additional charge, payable direct. Please notify your travel agent whether you are travelling with children and their age at the time of travel. No responsibility can be taken where children have not been included in the booking with SKIMAX.

Lift Passes
Lift passes are included as stated. In Europe, some lift passes may require a passport photo and in the USA, Aspen resort requires a photo for certain lift passes. No refunds can be given for any unused days on lift passes included in the holiday packages, should the days not be fully utilised.

In Europe, certain resorts may impose an additional surcharge for using cable cars or other lift systems not included in the usual ski lift pass rates. Any such surcharges are payable direct at the resort.

Responsibility
Qantas Airways and other airlines featured within this website do not by virtue of its endorsement of this website represent itself either as contracting with any purchaser of a holiday from SKIMAX or as having any other legal relationship with any purchaser aside from the liability as may be incurred as the carrier.

SKIMAX and/or its associated Companies or Agents give notice that they act as Booking Agents only for the persons or companies providing or offering the means of travel, conveyance, transport, accommodation or other services and all receipts, tickets, vouchers, coupons or exchange orders are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which transportation and other services are provided.

SKIMAX shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity that may be caused to person or property however caused or arising, during any tour under its management, sponsorship, procurement or otherwise, not withstanding that the Company’s principal may be a foreign Company, corporation or person.

So far as the Company shall not be acting as such Booking Agent it shall be deemed to be acting as Agent for the person making the booking. It is the responsibility of the passenger to ensure that they are in possession of the proper travel documents and that they are in compliance with the current government and Transportation companies’ regulations.

The right is reserved to modify the itinerary in any way considered necessary or desirable or to change any reservation, and/or means of conveyance, without notice and for any reason whatsoever and without allowance or refund but the extra cost, if any, resulting there from must be paid by the passenger. The right is also reserved to cancel or withdraw any tour, or any booking made for a passenger, or to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour for any reason whatsoever.

No refunds can be made in respect of accommodation and meals not utilised and under no circumstances can refunds be made for tours and sightseeing excursions not undertaken. Transportation companies or firms shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any detention, delay, loss, damage, sickness or injury however and by whom so ever caused and of whatever kind occurring of or to the passenger at any time when the passenger is not on board a carrier or conveyance used or operated by the transportation companies or firms.

Passage contracts in use by the transportation companies or firms concerned shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers. All fares are subject to change without notice. The issuance and acceptance of receipts, tickets, vouchers coupons or exchange orders shall be deemed consent to the above conditions.
